There are some things in life that are so profound to the human experience they defy any sense of ranking them in their importance. For instance, many would agree that the birth of a baby is about the most wonderful and endearing of all human experiences. Others will excitedly say being parents to a child ranks among the Mt. Everests of human experience. And I wish to add that becoming a grandparent too takes its place among the great treasures of human living.
This website is dedicated to sharing what a wonderful gift it is to have grandparenthood, as it were, to "land in one's lap". In our current world of nearly 7 billion people there may be as many as three billion grandparents, each with their own story of what that experience is like for them. With the human lifespan in many countries growing longer, so is grantparenthood a more common part of the human journey.
I've met a number of people who became grandparents and I felt I was witness to something so wonderful, so emotionally beautiful, so life enriching that they were entering into a stage in their lives they were so enjoying. During the past few years my wife, Jeannie, and I have had the terrific privilege of having grandchildren in our lifespace, and we are so happy and grateful for that life experience we view it a joy to be shared as another acknowledgement of love in the human journey. Yes we salute Grandparents Everywhere and invite anyone who wishes to share on this website a glimpse of what special relationship being a grandparent has brought to your life.
